There's a DVD available of a gig from Cat's 1976 American tour - it's called 'Majikat' and he goes through most of his big hits. Our Sue is singing in the centre of the 3-woman vocal backing band up the back.

Is it true Sue Donaldson was back up vocalist for Cat Stevens on "remember the days of the old school yard" and was also toured in his band

Am I right in thinking that Sue Donaldson is releasing a new album? Certainly would be something to look forward to if she is.

hmm, dunno, there was an album released 2 or 3 years back "Colour of Summer" which included new original material written by Suzanne, two songs by Neil Finn, (one - Ray Of Hope - previously unreleased), another by Tim Finn, and the title track Colour of Summer was written by Suzanne’s son Andy Lynch, from the band ZED.
More recently a couple of months back there was another album released, but this one was with The Lady Killers.

It was The Lady Killers album now I realise I was thinking of. I didn't realise Sue's son Andy was in Zed. Thanks for that info  Afro

Just another question about The Chicks Shocked

It surprises me there is so little on the web about The Chicks. I remember them as being hugely popular.

I remember The Chicks song 'Timothy'. I must surely have heard it on the radio back then to remember it so vividly. Was this released as a single and if so does anyone know what year it was and did it chart well. I have similar questions about Master Jack, which would have been a cover of The Four Jacks and a Jill version from South Africa.

From what I can gather, neither song was released as a single, Timothy appears on their album's "The Best Of The Chicks" and "C'Mon Chicks", Master Jack is also on the "C'Mon Chicks" album.

I vaguely remember them perfoming Timothy on Tele, can't remember the show, probably C'mon.
Nice smooth sound too.

Master Jack is a very nice song too !

I'm thinking also that they weren't released as singles, though I saw on a website yesterday (and now I can't find it!!) that they were both 'massive' hits  Huh

I did see the Chicks albums were...

The Sound of the Chicks (LP).
Viking 1967.

2nd album (LP).
Viking 1967.

A Long Time Comin' (LP).
Polydor 1969.

Greatest Hits (LP).
Festival 1970.

Best of the Chicks (LP).
Polydor 1970.

C'mon Chicks (LP).
Polydor 1970.

First of hopefully many interviews I want to do with some of my 1960's music friends....In this podcast I talk to Judy Hindman (nee Donaldson) from The Chicks, it's about 15 minutes duration.

Judy is great to talk to, down to earth she tells it like it was with no embellishments. I'll be doing a series of these, calling them "15 minutes of NZ fame". On the shortlist so far I have Glyn Tucker (Gremlins), Gerard Smith (Rumour) and David Curtis, Shane will be in there somewhere too and anyone else I can put my microphone in front of.
