Johnny Cooper ran these 'Talent Quests' all over New Zealand, sadly I have found out that he passed on last year. We entered the quest when we were then called 'The Marksmen' and we did reasonably well. In the photo left to right are Nigel Golding (rhythm guitar), myself (Joe Quinnell) (on bass, also vocalist), and Max Mackey (lead guitar), hidden behind Nigel is Howard Dudding on drums. Great days!

Fantastic, thanks for sharing the pic Joe.
My cousin Pat Southee from the Supersonics found out the rest home where Johnny was not too long before Johnny sadly passed away, but was unable to catch up with him, such a shame.

Thanks Steve,
I only met Johnny Cooper a few times during the talent quest series but he certainly was a nice man. He discovered a lot of Kiwi talent over the years. Proud to have met him.
